The organizations below are near and dear to our hearts for many reasons, and we hope you feel joy in giving the gift of education, hope, and support - things we have been blessed to receive in our own lives.
Maggie has chosen Children’s Defense Fund. Vince has chosen International Rescue Committee. Together, we have selected Equal Justice Initiative.
The Children’s Defense Fund’s mission is to ensure every child a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start and a Moral Start in life and successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities. CDF provides a strong, effective and independent voice for all the children of America who cannot vote, lobby or speak for themselves. They pay particular attention to the needs of poor children, children of color and those with disabilities. CDF educates the nation about the needs of children and encourages preventive investments before they get sick, drop out of school, get into trouble or suffer family breakdown.
The Equal Justice Initiative is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.
